# Plans and memories on one calendar

Dinner on Friday and the night you kept sit on the same calendar.

## How it works

A warming day is one you put something on for later. A restaurant and a time, or the word Lisbon on a day in June. The chip warms as the day gets closer, so the month can tell you something is soon without printing a number.

When the day passes with nothing written, the chip turns glowing and stays there. Glowing is a state, not a deadline. A mantel can carry glowing days for a year and Ember won't mention it.

An ember is a day with something in it. A photo, a line, or a voice note: any one of them is enough. That is the version the map draws, Wander turns up, and Ember Frame plays.

## When the plan doesn't happen

**Fade.** Ends a plan that never happened, without removing the day.

Fade is for the plan you made and did not use. The day stops glowing and stays on the calendar.

A faded day is still yours to open and still on the map. It is left out of Ember Frame, Wander, and Highlights, because those are for days you kept. Rekindle puts it back.

## What search reads

**Search.** Reads the writing on a day, including voice transcripts.

Search reads the title, the story, the asides, the replies, the tags, the places and the labels you gave them, and the hearth title.

It also reads voice transcripts, and you can correct those. A day nobody wrote up is still findable by something said on it.

Anything marked sensitive stays out of the results until it is revealed, and a reply under a covered entry stays out with it.

## Filter the calendar

**Filters.** By state, hearth, media, or what is waiting on you.

Filters narrow what the calendar shows. By state, so you can see only the glowing days. By hearth. By what is on a day: photos, video, voice, an anthem. By whether anyone marked it a favorite.

Two of them are about what is waiting on you: days you haven't added anything to yet, and Double Take questions waiting on your answer. Nothing counts them at you.

A filtered view is a URL. Send the link and it opens on the same view.

## A month, or a list

**Timeline view.** The same days as a grid or as a running list.

The calendar draws as a month by default. Timeline view lays the same days out as a list, which fits a phone and a busy month.

Ember remembers which one you were last in, per device.

## What it doesn't do

There are no streaks, no completion scores, and no badge for a month you filled in.

A past day is never marked late, and Ember won't remind you that you've fallen behind.
